Extra administrative leave in recognition of your work

Dear Infrastructure and Sustainability team,

I hope your summer is going well and that you’ve been able to find some time for rest and relaxation since the academic year ended. I’ve been hitting the trails myself and feel very fortunate that we have so many outdoor activities at our fingertips. We even saw our first moose, two no less within a couple of hours, while camping last week. I can’t state enough how proud I am of the selfless dedication you all displayed in helping to carry our university through the pandemic. It is in recognition of your work that I write to you today with some good news.

By now, hopefully you know that Chancellor DiStefano in May announced that the university is revising its winter break schedule to provide a full closure of all academic and administrative offices from Dec. 25 to Jan. 1 each year. This year, the campus shift includes holiday pay for three of the five work days during that time, with staff required to use two days of vacation leave.��

However, in honor of your work over the past year, we are granting all Infrastructure and Sustainability employees two days of administrative leave during the Dec. 25 to Jan. 1 stretch so that our employees do not need to use any of their personal leave. I realize that some of you are essential services employees who may be required to work during that week to ensure continued operations of building systems and other critical needs. Please rest assured that any of the holiday time or administrative leave days that you are unable to use due to these work requirements can be taken at a different time in coordination with your supervisor.��

Staff Council’s website includes a list of frequently asked questions about the new winter break schedule, and our I&S human resources director, Terri Willis, will follow up with managers and supervisors soon about the additional administrative leave for our organization to help ensure the message reaches all of our staff.��

While Infrastructure and Sustainability might not be able to provide this additional administrative leave during the winter break closure every year, I hope this small gesture this year helps illustrate to you how much our leadership team and I have appreciated your efforts. The pandemic challenged us in ways we’ve never before experienced, and time after time you proved you were up to the task in support of our campus mission.��

$5 daily parking passes available this summer

With some remote staff returning to campus this summer on a hybrid basis, Parking Services is offering a special daily parking rate of $5 to ��ϳԹ� faculty and staff from June 22, 2021 through Aug. 14, 2021. Use the promo code “SAVE5" to .�� Individual days may be purchased ahead of time up to one month in advance through the website.

I&S Volunteer Day of Service

The ��ϳԹ� I&S volunteer day of service is about inspiring and encouraging staff to engage with and give back to our campus. On Thursday, July 29, staff from across our Infrastructure and Sustainability division will come together and dedicate a few hours of service back to our campus community. All volunteers will receive a free lunch and a ��ϳԹ� water bottle. Space is limited, so register early to ensure your spot. Registration closes on Friday, July 23. I&S Mentor Program - Seeking Mentor Volunteers and Mentorship Topic Ideas

We are celebrating the 10th year of the Infrastructure and Sustainability Mentoring Program (ISMP)!�� As always, we are looking for ways to improve and expand the program, and very much value your feedback. If you would kindly take a few moments to , it will help us greatly as we begin programming the 2021/22 ISMP cohort.

EH&S’s Holly Gates-Mayer named president-elect of FRaBSA

Holly Gates-Mayer, biosafety officer for Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S), is the new president-elect of the Front Range chapter of ABSA, a trade association dedicated to promoting biosafety and serving the needs of biosafety professionals. .

EV Charging Stations - rate change goes into effect July 6, 2021

Beginning July 6, there will be a $1.50 per hour charging fee at all campus EV charging stations (excluding chargers reserved for campus service vehicles). Regular hourly parking rates will still apply at the EV chargers available to visitors. This fee helps offset the costs paid to install, operate and maintain the EV chargers, and builds a reserve for infrastructure costs that are currently unfunded, thereby providing increased support for future expansion. Google Drive storage limitations coming in 2022

OIT is no longer recommending using Google Drive for storage of non-Google file types (e.g., Microsoft documents, PDFs, video, photos, etc.) due to upcoming storage limitations announced recently by Google. If you or your team currently uses Google Drive for long term storage of files, photos or videos, please so that we can help you come up with a transition plan to another long term storage solution. Our I&S/FM file storage solutions are not changing:�� Meridian, Cotterpin, FMfiles, etc. are not affected.
