- In-residence Research Semester Incoming tenure-track faculty often are given some form of teaching release (generally for one or two courses) during the period prior to the comprehensive review. During the release they are expected to remain on campus and continue to perform research and service duties.
- Instructor Travel Fund to provide travel related financial support for Instructors and Senior Instructors that are rostered in the College of Arts and Sciences.
- Kayden Awards are intended to promote the completion of research and creative work in the arts and humanities, research leading to publication, and the celebration and dissemination of excellent arts and humanities research.
- Monthly Staff Recognition Award is presented monthly to College of Arts and Sciences staff from all divisions (Social Sciences and Arts and Humanities) in recognition and appreciation ofÌýoutstanding performance, important contributions beyond official job responsibilities and other extraordinary and innovative work contributions to the college.
- Professor of Distinction: College of Arts and Sciences’ Honorary Title is reserved for scholars and artists of national and international distinction who are also recognized by their College peers as teachers and colleagues of exceptional talent.
- Teaching ProfessorÌý(new level of distinction for instructional faculty) The working title of Teaching Professor will be given to a limited proportion of senior instructors to recognize a record of distinction.
- College of Engineering & Applied Science Dean’s Performance Awards Awards are made for outstanding performance in teaching and research, for professional progress over the previous year, and for outstanding performance by a junior faculty member. Each awardee receives a $5,000 discretionary fund.
- College of Engineering & Applied Science Sullivan-Carlson Innovation in Teaching Award The student-sponsored Engineering Excellence Fund makes the $1,000 award annually to an instructor in the college who demonstrates initiative and innovation in developing and using hands-on curriculum.
- College of Engineering & Applied Science John and Mercedes Peebles Innovation in Education Award This award recognizes faculty (professor or instructor) of the college who have shown a unique commitment to students demonstrated through innovations in education. The selected faculty receives a $2,500 award.
- College of Engineering & Applied Science Outstanding Advisor Award This award recognizes faculty and/or staff advisors who demonstrate exceptional advising skills and who serve as role models to other advisors.Ìý Awards are $1,000 and may or may not be made each year at the discretion of the selection committee.
- College of Engineering & Applied Science Faculty Excellence Program The Faculty Excellence program includes the Laboratory Renovation Funds program, Deans Faculty Fellowships, Dean’s Performance Awards, and Dean’s Seed Fund for Novel Ideas.
- This fund includes Mini Proposals, Major Proposals, and Fixed Commitments funding. Mini Proposals are awards of up to $3,000. Major Proposals are proposed amounts with no dollar cap. Fixed Commitments include opportunities, education spaces, and programs that the Engineering Excellence Fund believes should be funded every year.
- CMCI Payden Award The Payden Award recognizes excellence in teaching and research or creative work with a $20,000 cash prize and the opportunity to present a colloquium on effective teaching methods to faculty colleagues and graduate students.
- CMCI de Castro Research Award The de Castro Research Award supports and enhances the research and creative work of faculty in the College of Media, Communication and Information.

We encourage applications from all interested parties: CU affiliates (students, faculty, or staff), CU non-affiliates, independent researchers and scholars, filmmakers and artists.
